Director of FLIGHT Mentor Center

Position Summary
The Director of the FLIGHT Mentor Center, in coordination with a Faculty Advisory Board, establishes and manages the daily functions of both a virtual and physical center dedicated to training and supporting an array of mentors to support undergraduate students' progression to graduation. The Director oversees the center as well as training initiatives. In addition, the Director meets regularly with the Title V Project Director to verify the Activity is meeting grant objectives. The position reports to the Assistant Provost of Teaching, Learning, and Technology.
This is a Title V funded position that is expected to be institutionalized at the end of the grant period (October 2026) if objectives are met.

Job Duties
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong collaboration skills to effectively interact with faculty, staff, administrators, and students.
- Strong budget management skills.
- Ability to effectively design and develop training modules for faculty, staff, administrators, and students; may be required to execute training.
- Excellent oral, written, and technical communication skills.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organization skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
Master's Degree.
Required Work Experience
- Five (5) years of professional experience in academic support services and/or teaching and/or mentoring programs within a multicultural higher education environment.
- Three years (3) of experience in program development and/or management.
- Three years (3) of experience developing, planning, and conducting training with faculty and/or other professionals and students.
Preferred Qualifications
- FLIGHT Certified Mentor.
- Bilingual in the Spanish language.
- Experience with Banner and CANVAS LMS.
- Familiar with Title V grant objectives.

N/A.
Work Hours
Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with extended hours as needed to meet departmental goals.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 10lbs for table set-up/tear-down or event materials.
- Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat to retrieve events materials.
- Ability to push/pull equipment carts holding up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to actively engage in events for extended periods of time.
- Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues to actively engage faculty, staff, and students, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
