UIW Mission

Position Summary
The IR Data Analyst serves as an essential member of the university planning and assessment process to ensure data integrity for state and federal reporting, as well as a wide variety of institutional reporting and predictive analytics. The position also analyzes data quality and data management activities, as well as leads discussion and data discovery for advanced data analysis and reporting. The IR Data Analyst reports to the Director of Institutional Research.

  • Experience with project management and data warehouse concepts.
  • Must have the ability to set deadlines, prioritize responsibilities, and coordinate numerous projects simultaneously; detail-oriented, problem solver.
  • Must maintain quality customer service.
  • Must have a strong work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively and to share skills with team members, as well as successfully bridge the gap between end-users and technical specialists.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical details to those with less or no expertise.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Sciences, Information Management, or related field.

Required Work Experience
  • Three (3) years of programming experience in PL/SQL database queries.
  • Two (2) years of experience building complex electronic reports and statistical models using data visualization programs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Sciences, Information Management, or related field.
  • Experience working with Ellucian Banner.
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Knowledge of enrollment management process and best practices, including National Student Clearinghouse, US Census and other higher-education data sources.
  • Proficiency with Office 365, including MS Excel.
  • Experience with R, Python or other programming languages.
  • Expertise working in a higher education setting. Experience within an Institutional Research office is a plus.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations

Work Hours
Mon to Fri 8am to 5pm with extended hours as needed to meet departmental goals.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to regularly move about campus to attend meetings.
  • Ability to execute and actively engage attendees in training.
