Part Time Reference & Liaison Librarian

Position Summary
The Part Time Reference/Liaison Librarian is a professional educator who works with our existing team of librarians to provide discipline specific co-curricular instruction and support to undergraduate, graduate students and faculty in assigned academic disciplines. Position works closely with other librarians and staff to provide reference and research support to all patrons and with faculty in developing and delivering appropriate information literacy instruction. The Part-Time Reference & Liaison Librarian reports to the Director of Public Services.

Proficient in database searching and other learning software platforms.
Excellent oral, written, presentation and communications skills.
Ability to teach concepts to groups and one-on-one.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
ALA-Accredited Master of Library Science Degree or equivalent.

Required Work Experience
One (1) year of experience working in an academic library.

Preferred Qualifications

Fluent in the use of the major academic databases and other library resources.
Two (2) or more prior years of reference service experience in an academic library.
Experience developing and utilizing online learning platforms and research platforms.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
None specified.

Work Hours
Part-time hours of 16 to 20 hours a week: typical Mon – Thurs from 4pm – 8pm with an occasional weekend shift of Saturday 11 am-3pm or Sunday 2 pm to 6pm.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. and push and pull book trucks typically weighing 60 lbs.
Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat, and climb stairs to retrieve library materials.
Ability to regularly move about library and campus, as well as actively engage with patrons.
